Ring of Fire: 50-mile Cascade Mountains Ride Hosted by Mudslinger Events
The Ring of Fire - Hosted by Mudslinger Events on September 28th, 2024
This fall there will be a race late into the MTB season on September 28th, 2024 dubbed the Ring of Fire. Hosted by Mudslinger Events, this race lives up to the motto “more than just a race” and also aligns with NUE’s marathon schedule. This is a challenging 50.1 mile single-track course at elevation. The race name refers to the Cascade Mountains 25,000 mi. area of volcanic activity in the Pacific Ocean Basin, know as the “Ring of Fire”.
Our own Bicycle Accident Lawyer, Matt Scarborough, is actively training for this steep challenge. We encourage you to come out to the finish line to cheer on all the riders. This is one tough course.
The Ring of Fire course for riders
With an elevation gain of 5,064 ft. this race is definitely one to train for beforehand and not geared towards beginners. It is 50.1 mi. long and located in Wagona Snow Park which sports single track trails. The maximum grade elevation is 13.9% and three out of the fifty miles will be paved. There are six climbs listed on the NUE route website, each with varying lengths and steepness. The longest is 9.2 mi. while the shortest is under a mile, at 0.8mi.

See you at the Ring of Fire
Typically, Matt Scarborough will be at our sponsor table, ready to engage cyclists and answer questions about bike safety and legal matters – but on September 28th, he’ll be out on the course. If you see him out there, give him a nod! Our whole team will be rooting for all the cyclists and hope participants have a great time on course.
