Fort De Soto Triathlon Series: Final Two Races on August 25th and September 29th

The Fort De Soto Triathlon Series in Florida encompasses four distinct race dates and is a favorite for Florida’s triathlon community. For triathletes that participate in multiple dates, they are able to see their progress on the same course and location, Fort De Soto State Park, as the series progresses. This is a highly organized and large competition with multiple events, post race-comforts and awards, as well as many volunteer opportunities.

Matt Scarborough, ESQ recently interviewed the longtime Integrity Sports Announcer, Dave Raggsdale, for his podcast. Dave provided many tips for those new to triathlons and shared what he’s gleaned from announcing approximately 500,000 racers cross the finish line. Check out their conversation.

Supporting the Florida Triathlon Community

This year Scarborough Bicycle Accident Law is proud to sponsor the series, and share our sponsorship benefits with a team of local athletes as well.

Sarah Flook is a running coach, fitness trainer, and triathlete who placed second in her event on the June 2nd race day. “Huge thank you to Bicycle Accident Law for sponsoring this race-make sure you reach out to them if you ever need help” - @not_a_fluke (Instagram).

Tristan Knutson, a local Florida athlete, participating in his first triathlon had a strong finish to the July 14th:  “Still a lot to work on but 3rd place age group finish isn’t a terrible start to this whole triathlon thing.” - @tristan_k_1 (Instagram).

Other athletes sponsored include:

Alyssa Choppy, a runner and triathlete based in nearby St. Petersburg, Florida and Megan Arnold, a University of Tampa swim alum who is now completing 15K runs.

Scarborough Bicycle Accident Law is rooting for all the multisport athletes!

Race Day Amenities at Fort De Soto:

  • Event organizers listened to feedback and there is now a pool to rinse sand from competitors' feet before cycling or running. How cool is that?

  • Additionally, the transition area has been expanded to accommodate the large number of racers trying to keep pace and change sports quickly.

  • Plentiful maps and instructions online ensure participants, and their supporters, will know where they should park and be at certain points throughout the day.

  • For the events in June and July, Artic Bath & Coffee was onsite providing immediate post-race recovery ice baths

  • Who participated and was handed a Liquid Death can upon completion? This pure mountain water brand was waiting at the finish line to help triathletes start hydrating.

Athletes do not have to compete in all four events to participate in the team, and the final two events are August 25th and September 29th.
